Immunotherapy (Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors)

Cancer cells have mechanisms to escape the immune system. As a very new development, scientist has found that some cellular braking mechanisms block the immune system from reacting to cancer. New drugs that inhibit these braking mechanisms have been used in cancer treatment to stimulate the immune system in recent years.

The immune system cells, which are activated by these drugs called “immune checkpoint inhibitors”, act to recognize and destroy the cancer. We are one of the most experienced immune-oncology centers in Turkey.
