Male Mammoplasty-Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia is enlargement of the gland tissue of the male breast.

During infancy, puberty, and in middle-aged to older men, gynecomastia can be common. Gynecomastia must be distinguished from pseudogynecomastia or lipomastia, which refers to the presence of fat deposits in the breast area of obese men.

Gynecomastia refers to abnormal breast growth in men.

Although the reason is not fully known, it is thought that there may be multiple causes. It is generally thought to be caused by imbalance in sex hormones.

The size of the breast tissue resulting from disturbances in estrogen and testosterone balance can often occur bilaterally and rarely unilaterally.

The problem is that one of every 18 men in the world is facing this problem is growing rapidly.

The incidence of gynecomastia increases with advancing age. Once the necessary assessments are made in these patients, surgical treatment is recommended where appropriate. They indicate that they are uncomfortable with growth and swelling in their breasts; Sometimes it can be accompanied by growing, tenderness and pain. Many of the patients except physical findings complain about not being able to enter the sea, the pool, or the garments sitting in the narrow body, while the gynecomastia can cause the feeling of visual anxiety and embarrassment in the person and affect the psychology of the person negatively.

The presence of a condition that causes gynecomastia is first investigated in the person who has applied with gynecomastia. Blood and hormone tests are done. If deemed necessary, further studies such as USG, MR or BT are carried out.

Surgical treatment is recommended if there is no underlying cause as a result of the examinations made.

In surgical treatment, excess fat tissue in growing breast tissue is removed by liposuction method. Liposuction does not cut skin. Small holes are opened in the areas where the liposuction cannulas are inserted and at the end of the operation each hole is closed with a single stitch. In males, there is a mammary gland in the small size that resides under the nipple. In patients with breast gland growth, liposuction may not produce the desired diminutive effect.

In this case, the breast is removed with a small incision made at the neck joint with the dark part of the breast. Breast skin too much sagging, the breast enlargement of patients with large size liposuction can not remove the excess skin may need to take more skin. One of the revolutionary methods in the treatment of gynecomastia in recent years is the laser liposuction method. In this method, unlike normal liposuction, laser energy is given to subcutaneous tissue. In this way, the fat that accumulates in the breast is more easily disintegrated and then excreted in accordance with the classical liposuction technique.

This requirement is largely due to the tightening effect on the skin and the nipple, while the skin is very sagging or the mammary gland is too large for patients to cut through the old methods and leave traces in certain areas of the body.
